Top Kit Features
Thankfully, despite their recent rebrand from ConvertKit to Kit, essentially everything else remains the same. You still have access to all the same cutting-edge email marketing tools you had before.
Here are the top Kit features, in no particular order.
1. Automated Marketing Workflows
Imagine emails sending themselves. ๐ค That’s right; set up your email sequences once and let Kit send them out on time and to the right people forever.
It’s super important to be able to schedule email broadcasts.
For example, if I have breaking news about a product that hasn’t been released yet, I can schedule it to go out on the day of the official product launch, making it more relevant and timely for my readers.
2. Customizable Forms and Landing Pages
Every business dreams of a fresh supply of new leads. The problem? Creating good landing pages and opt-in forms is complicated. But not with Kit.
Kit’s landing page builder lets you do that with zero fuss. You can create unlimited forms and landing pages, so get busy building. ๐ค
I create a new landing page for every product I promote. This allows me to tailor my marketing messages to specific target audiences, so that the content resonates with the people who will benefit most from the product.
3. Selling Digital Products
The Commerce feature lets creators easily experiment with selling onlineโthere is no need for a separate eCommerce platform.
With Kit, you can sell it straight to your audience with no middleman. Ebooks, courses, you name it. Set up shop with Kit and ka-ching! ๐ฐ
4. Email Templates
Not all emails are created equal, that’s why Kit provides customizable email templates. The editor is super easy to use, so you don’t need any coding skills or design talent.
Just pick a template, swap out the text and images with your own, and whip up a slick-looking email to wow your audience. And, these emails look awesome on any device, whether it’s a mobile or desktop.
5. Smart Subscriber Segmentation
Get your emails to the right subscribers for better engagement and higher conversion rates. Filter your list into groups and send targeted emails to readers.
Keep your audience engaged with targeted emails that give them value. Kit.com lets you segment like a pro. More relevance equals more opens, and more opens mean more success.
6. Integrations with Other Platforms
We all have our favorite tools and platforms for running our online business. Kit.com integrates with hundreds of other platforms so that you can use your preferred tools.
Some popular integrations include Zapier, Shopify, Stripe, and ClickFunnels. Just plug and play and get back to building your business.
7. Visual Automation Builder
This feature is how you map out your subscribers’ journey. There is a library of common Visual Automation strategies to pick from or build your own from scratch.
These are just a few of my favorite features; there are plenty more for you to explore, and they’re always working on improving the platform.
Kit has been my go-to choice for years because they genuinely care about this stuff and want their customers to succeed.
It’s not just about sending pretty emails (although they do that, too). It’s all about making your life easier and helping your business thrive.
Pros & Cons of Kit
You’ll love its user-friendly interface, powerful automation tools, and high deliverability rates. But, of course, there’s always room for improvement.

Stay connected with your audience.
Customize emails for different groups.
Match your brand identity for easy recognition.
Boost productivity with quick templates.
Simplify email sequence setup.
Sync with your favorite tools for enhanced productivity.

Improve open and click-through rates.
Getting Started with Kit
We’ve discussed a lot of advanced features in this Kit review, but what is it like to use? Let me show you how easy it is to start collecting email addresses, even if you’ve never done it before.
How To Create an Opt-In Form
Do you have a website and an audience? That’s awesome. Let’s connect it with some Kit opt-in forms.
1. Login to your Kit account
2. Click Grow > Landing Pages & Forms
3. You are now on the Landing Page & Form Signups Dashboard
4. Click the ‘Create New‘ button.
5. Choose ‘Form‘ from the next page.
6. Decide how you want the form to be displayed; you have four options:
Inline: A form that fits in your content.
Modal: Display a form that pops up based on timing.
Slide in: Show a form that slides up from the bottom-right or bottom-left of your site.
Sticky bar: Display a form that stays at the top or bottom of the page.
*I’m using an inline form for this example
7. You are now at the template library. Choose one.
8. Edit the template to match your brand and offer.
9. Upload your download. Settings > Incentive > Download > Choose a file > Save.
10. Hit the Save button to update the draft or the Publish button to make it live.
11. You will see a pop-up with options to share with your audience. Pick the one that is right for you.
And just like that, youโve got an opt-in form to gather leads, show off your offers, and boost sales.
How To Create a Landing Page
Kit allows you to create unlimited pages using its landing page builder. That’s amazing because a landing page typically costs between $75 and $3000 each!
Building a landing page in Kit is easy. The first 5 steps are the same as above, except you will pick ‘Landing Page’ instead of ‘Form’ in step 5.
1. Choose your template.
Pick from a library of landing page templates. Preview to ensure you like it, and click ‘Choose.’
2. Make it yours
Inject life into your page with your sales copy and business branding. Personalize the headline, add your offer, and add your social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter(X), etc.).
3. Add an image
Use a scroll-stopping image to hook your visitors’ attention. Upload your own, pick one you like from Unsplash, or upload one from your Instagram account.
4. Deliver your promise
Upload your lead magnet so ConvertKit can send it out when someone gives you their email address. Go to `Settings -> Incentive -> Download,` select your file, and hit save. It’s that simple– done โ
5. Go live
Press ‘Publish,’ and boomโyour landing page is ready to be found by your ideal customer. Share your link across social media platforms or embed it on your site.
It is that easy. Your new landing page is ready to rock and roll, waiting to reel in leads and expand your brand’s digital footprint. ๐
Kit.com vs The Competition: Does It Stack Up?
How does Kit measure against Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, and other Kit alternatives? Let’s cut to the chase so that you can decide for yourself.
Mailchimp vs. Kit
You’ve probably heard of Mailchimp, the heavyweight ‘Champ’ that’s been around forever. Well, Kit is the underdog that everyone loves with its no-nonsense approach.
It’s like choosing between a Swiss Army knife and a scalpel โ Mailchimp has loads of tools that might take some getting used to, while Kit gives you what you need without the steep learning curve.
ActiveCampaign vs. Kit
ActiveCampaign is the established pro, ideal for big businesses scaling at pace.
Kit? It’s the savvy choice for solopreneurs, making email marketing affordable without the hefty bill at the end of every month.
GetResponse vs. Kit
GetResponse is the jack of all trades, being more of an All-In-One marketing platform than a stand-alone email marketing service.
Kit, on the other hand, is all about serving creators who need a reliable email marketing tool. GetResponse also has a free plan and is one of the closer Kit alternatives.
Is Kit Right for You?
Are you looking for more leads, sales, or just better brand visibility? Then Kit is for you!
Kit is ideal for:

What Customers Think of Kit
I’m not the only person who thinks Kit is doing a good job. According to the review platform GetApp, Kit (aka. ConvertKit) scores an impressive 4.7/5 from its users.
Kit Support
When things go wrong or you need help using a specific feature, Kit offers different ways to help you get the answers you need.
They respond promptly to support emails, and their knowledge base provides detailed solutions to common user problems. While they don’t offer telephone support, which is common in the SaaS market.
I prefer the ‘self-help’ approach. However, if you prefer talking to support over the phone, this is something for you to consider.

Nathan Barry, founder of Kit,ย previously worked as a designer, author, and blogger. In his free time, Nathan enjoys soccer, woodworking, and time with his three boys. ๐
